It’s going to take me a while to really be present to the type of lifestyle that I envision in my mind in regards to clean beauty and sustainable fashion.
I am slowly taking baby steps to look at my wardrobe and of course my make up and skin care to make better choices not only for myself but for the world around me.
The earth is heavily impacted right now in so many ways and I know I can’t fix everything but I can do my part.
So slowly and surely my plan is to transform my wardrobe into items that are sustainable and better for the planet.
This year I have gone to H&M a few times and purchased a few items and noticed that a lot of them are labeled with “conscious choice”. In the past I was always into fast fashion but in the last couple of years have awoken to the fact that fast fashion is incredibly wasteful and toxic from increased greenhouse gas emissions to heavy carbon footprint in brands globally.
@hm are slowly doing their part to make their line sustainable which I find amendable for such a fast fashion brand. They are NOT perfect but it’s a start. While I wish I could shop 100% sustainably the price tag on some of these beautiful brands is not for my wallet at this time in my life.
H&M states:
“Our aim is for all our products to be made from recycled or other sustainably sourced materials by 2030. This actually already applies to 65% of the materials we use.
We also have our Conscious concept: pieces created with more consideration for the planet. They’re made from at least 50% sustainably sourced materials — like organic cotton and recycled polyester — but many Conscious products contain a lot more than that. The only exception is recycled cotton, which can only make up 20% of a product.
If we included any more recycled cotton, the clothes simply wouldn’t have the same quality, but we’re hoping to change that!
With new technological solutions and innovations, we’re continually working to make our range even more sustainable.” H&M.com
Better choices these days are integral. I don’t always make the right decision but being AWARE and AWAKE to conscious fashion choices is one thing I’m starting to open my eyes to.
It’s a start 🙏🏻
